Offering Courses Online Can Save Colleges Money, 2 Texas Studies Find
It costs less to deliver college courses online, on average, than to teach them in a traditional face-to-face environment, according to two studies conducted by the University of Texas System.
Officials of UT Telecampus, the university's online component, conducted the studies at the behest of the Board of Regents, which wanted to make sure that the system was not wasting money by teaching courses over the Internet.
