Of Patronage and Exploitation
Michael Frome, a longtime environmental activist and writer, might have been engaging in a little hyperbole when he wrote, in Greenspeak: Fifty Years of Environmental Muckraking and Advocacy (University of Tennessee Press, 2002) that the "George W.
