John Ashbery's poetry embraces the unresolved
One of our finest contemporary poets is John Ashbery, 80, perhaps best known for Self-Portrait in a Convex Mirror: Poems (1975), winner of the Pulitzer Prize and other major awards. He has been prolific in recent years, and now we have a marvelous selection of his later poems, Notes From the Air: Selected Later Poems (Ecco), drawing on 10 volumes over two decades.
