QUICK EXIT: The first female president in Occidental College's 120-year history will step down at the end of December, after serving for only a year and a half.

Susan W. Prager announced her decision last month, saying her way of operating was not compatible with some powers at the institution, including Dennis A. Collins, chairman of the Board of Trustees.
