Obstacle to Outsourcing Vetoed in New Jersey
Gov. Christine Todd Whitman of New Jersey has vetoed a bill that would have made it harder for public educational institutions to contract out services.
Although the Legislature had overwhelmingly passed the measure, members did little to try to override the veto, issued this month.
The bill would have required public colleges and school districts to give union representatives a say in their efforts to subcontract services to outside providers. In
