Oberlin Faces Steep Budget Cuts
Oberlin College, grappling with rising health-care costs and a flat endowment, is bracing for budget deficits projected to last for three or four years. To make up for an estimated shortfall of up to $5-million next year, the private liberal-arts college will spend a larger proportion of its approximately $600-million endowment on operating expenses.
