ONE UNIVERSITY'S GROWING ONLINE PROGRAM

Many colleges have seen sharp increases in the enrollments of their online-education programs. One example is Bellevue University, based in Nebraska, where officials expect to have more students online than on their campus within the next couple of years.

1997-98: Total enrollment, 3,948; percent online, 2%

1998-99: Total enrollment, 3,833; percent online, 6%

1999-2000: Total enrollment, 4,309; percent online, 7%
