The Chronicle needs to reconsider how it uses the term "liberal-arts college." If reporters are using the term to refer to all small colleges, they should instead use "small colleges" — or perhaps "baccalaureate colleges," if referring to small colleges that offer only baccalaureate degrees. As it is, far too many Chronicle articles use the term to refer to colleges that are no more liberal-arts colleges than is the University of Georgia.
