Nontraditional Students at Private Colleges
To the Editor:
Your article "Education Department Wants to Create Grant Program Linked to Graduation Rates" (January 3) includes a claim by officials at public institutions that "public colleges educate larger proportions of nontraditional students, many of whom must work and can attend college only part time." It is important to look carefully at the data behind that claim.
