Nonprofit National U. to Buy For-Profit College of Oceaneering

It is not too often that a private nonprofit university buys a for-profit educational institution. But that is what is happening in California.

National University has announced plans to purchase the College of Oceaneering. Officials at National say the acquisition is part of a strategy to expand its course and degree offerings, most of which are geared toward full-time professionals who want to attend college part time.
