No Room of Their Own
To the Editor:
The opinion piece by Thomas Fisher is an outrageous example of crass corporate greed applied to academic architecture ("New Options for Campus Offices", Campus Architecture, The Chronicle, March 25). Fisher proposes to make all faculty members into taxi professors -- the poor souls who commute to a campus, teach their course, and disappear in a cloud of dust in the departing taxi.
There is, indeed, a need for some flexible space for faculty and staff members
