No Politics From the Professor
To the Editor:
Jennifer Olmsted argues that "professors almost always let their political views leak into their course material" (Letters to the Editor, The Review, July 4). "Isn't it better," she asks, "to be upfront about it, rather than hiding behind the veil of objectivity?" Dr. Olmsted believes that students often appreciate such candor. After she expressed her opinions against the war in Iraq, for example, "almost every student came up" to her to thank her for this departure
