No-Confidence Vote for President of Our Lady of the Lake U.

Faculty members at Our Lady of the Lake University have voted no confidence in Tessa Martinez Pollack, the private Roman Catholic institution’s president since 2002, the San Antonio Express-News reported.

Students called for Ms. Pollack’s ouster during a protest last week over planned tuition increases at the San Antonio, Tex., university. The Faculty Assembly followed with the no-confidence vote on Monday, and faculty leaders plan to discuss the matter with the university’s governing board.

Ms. Pollack also received a faculty’s no-confidence vote in 1997, when she was president of Glendale Community College, in Arizona. But Glendale’s faculty later reversed its vote. She also came under criticism from the president of the college district’s governing board while at Glendale. —Paul Fain
