Nicaraguan Student Is Killed During Anti-Government Protest

A Nicaraguan student was killed in a clash with police officers in Managua last week, when pro-Sandinista students tried to storm the Central Bank to demand larger university budgets.

Following the student's death, apparently from a rubber bullet fired by a police officer, students seized and burned police cars and attacked various government offices, according to press accounts.

The violence followed
