'New York Times' Offer May Be More Generous Than Was Planned
Has the TimesSelect service of The New York Times become an academic free-for-all?
Last week the Times announced that its restricted online content, for which readers must pay a subscription fee, would be made available free to college students, professors, and staff members who have e-mail addresses ending in .edu.
What the Times may not have accounted for is that many colleges offer their alumni free e-mail services with addresses that also end with .edu.
