New York Asks 60 Colleges to Explain Ties to Lenders
Expanding a state investigation into whether student-loan providers encourage campus financial-aid administrators to steer borrowers their way, the attorney general of New York has sent letters to 60 colleges and universities across the country, asking for information about how they choose the providers included on their "preferred lender" lists.
