New Stamp Marks Passage of First GI Bill
The GI Bill, which has allowed millions of veterans of World War II and later military service to attend college, has been commemorated in a new postage stamp, issued 55 years after the first bill was passed.
The stamp, which the U.S. Postal Service began selling in February, is one in a series of 15 stamps that celebrate the pop culture and arts of the 1940s, in addition to recognizing events surrounding World War II.
