New Slovak Government Rescinds a Cut in the Budget for Higher Education
The new government of Slovakia has rescinded a surprise, mid-year cut in the higher-education budget that had been imposed by the previous administration. The reduction would have amounted to about 4 per cent of the annual budget for the country's universities.
While that action alone might have won the government the support of Slovakia's educators, it probably would not have taken that much, so anxious were academics for a change
