New Rules Proposed for College Reports of Athletics Statistics
The U.S. Department of Education proposed rules in August that would change the way colleges report data on their athletes' graduation rates and on gender equity in their sports programs.
Currently, the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act of 1994 requires colleges and universities to publish annual reports on the number of their male and female athletes, and on their budgets for men's and women's teams. Under the proposal, institutions would be required to
