New Private U. Opens in Canada
The arrival of students in August at Quest University, in Squamish, British Columbia, marked the opening of Canada's first private, nonprofit, secular university.
Modeled on the small, private liberal-arts colleges common in the United States, Quest is the brainchild of David W. Strangway, a former president of the University of British Columbia.
Mr. Strangway, who is president of the new college, said it was "unbelievably satisfying" to be able to welcome students to campus
