New PSAT Will Lack a Major Part of Revised SAT -- an Essay
The most highly touted portion of the revised SAT -- the essay -- will not appear on the new PSAT because grading the writing sample would be too costly and time-consuming, according to officials at the College Board, which administers the tests. Some guidance counselors worry that students who take the new PSAT will not be as prepared as they should be for the new SAT.
