New NIH Rules Ban Some Payments From Universities
The National Institutes of Health announced strict conflict-of-interest rules last week that will ban its staff scientists from accepting money from outside organizations, including universities, in most circumstances. The agency did carve out some exceptions, including payments and other support for some kinds of continuing medical education, scholarly publishing, and cash prizes for scientific achievement.
