Thank you for your article highlighting the need for engineering schools to work closely with community colleges to develop the engineering work force required in the future ("Community Colleges Seen as Source of Engineers," The Chronicle, October 10). However, I would like to correct one statement made in the article. Maryland's engineering articulation effort will not be the first of its kind in the United States.
