New Managers for Part of Gates Millennium Scholars Program

The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund has signed an agreement with the United Negro College Fund to administer the Gates Millennium Scholars program for Asian and Pacific Islander American students, according to a news release issued last week. The program, the richest scholarship program in the history of higher education, was established in 1999 with a $1-billion gift from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which two months ago gave it an additional $58-million.
