New Law Helps Biodefense Labs by Taking Money From Other Facilities
Buried in the $5.6-billion bioterrorism bill signed into law by President Bush late last month was a little-noticed provision that will increase the federal government's share of construction and renovation costs for biocontainment facilities on college campuses. But to pay for the provision, lawmakers have eliminated federal funds for the construction of other biomedical facilities.
