New Government Could Change Canada's Course on Higher Education

The election of a Conservative minority government in Canada last week, after 12 years of Liberal rule, has fueled speculation about what might happen to the country's higher-education policies, especially those dealing with money. Officially administrators and academics are holding their fire as the new government, under Stephen Harper, takes office in February.
