New Findings on Teacher Preparation
Most new elementary- and secondary-school teachers graduated from traditional four-year or five-year education programs run by public colleges and not from alternative programs that prepare students to teach, despite a recent increase in the number of those programs, says a book released in June by the American Educational Research Association.
