'New England Journal of Medicine' Admits Overlooking 19 Authors' Conflicts of Interest; MIT Press to Refresh Its Coverage of Architecture, Art, Media Theory
In a remarkable mea culpa, editors at The New England Journal of Medicine last week admitted to having overlooked 19 violations of the journal's conflict-of-interest policy in the past three years. In each case, the journal published a review of treatments for an illness despite the fact that one or more of the review's authors had told the journal about financial connections to drug companies.
