New Efforts at Community Colleges Focus on Underachieving Teens

Listless students take college classes while still in high school

Throughout much of her time at a public high school in Vergennes, Vt., Christina Aiken daydreamed, doodled, and ignored some of her teachers. She graduated this month with a 2.7 grade-point average.
