New Duties, Old Rewards
To the Editor:
Nancy Cantor and Steven D. Lavine raise an important point in "Taking Public Scholarship Seriously" (The Chronicle Review, June 9). The vast majority of academic institutions do not reward faculty members for public scholarship. But the problem extends far beyond this specific issue.
