New Colorado Ethics Law Could Keep Scholars from Accepting Prize Money
Stringent new ethics rules meant to prevent Colorado's public officials from receiving gifts or favors would bar future Nobel Prize-winning professors at public universities from accepting the prize money or similar monetary awards, according to an analysis by the state's attorney general.
The broadly written language in Constitutional Amendment 41, approved overwhelmingly by voters in November, would also block public employees' children from receiving certain college scholarships,
