New Chancellor for SUNY

To the Editor:

New York State's budget director, Robert L. King, the State University of New York's next chancellor, is certainly entitled to have a chance to prove himself and his commitment to SUNY ("Governor's Budget Chief Nominated as Chancellor of SUNY," December 17). However, faculty members and other strong defenders of the university are justified in voicing concerns over the tone of King's recent statements regarding his priorities for SUNY.
