New California Law Stiffens Data-Protection Rules for Research on Human Subjects
California recently adopted a law that stiffens data-security requirements for academic researchers who work with confidential information about human subjects. And while many university researchers are annoyed by the law's requirements, some observers are predicting that other states will follow California's lead and pass similar laws.
