New Australian Government Hopes to Halt Reported Decline of Higher Education

Kevin Rudd, the Labor Party leader who promised an "education revolution" to increase public spending on schools and universities and arrest the "brain drain" of talented academics to universities abroad, won an emphatic victory over the weekend as voters chose him to replace the country's conservative prime minister, John Howard.
