New Accrediting Body Forms for Human-Subjects Research
A nonprofit organization that has accredited veterans' hospitals said last month that it would team up with the nation's principal accreditor of hospitals to create a new organization to review institutions that study human volunteers in biomedical research.
The announcement came after the nonprofit organization, the National Committee for Quality Assurance, was criticized by some veterans' medical centers and universities that it has reviewed. The group received a contract in 2000
