Nevada Court Upholds Closed-Door Interviews
The Nevada Supreme Court ruled this month that community-college presidents are not public officers and that the state's Board of Regents may therefore conduct interviews for the positions behind closed doors.
In September, the Las Vegas Review-Journal had challenged the regents' right to privately interview applicants for the presidency of the Community College of Southern Nevada. The regents had narrowed the number of candidates for the job to six, and said
