Network Security on the Campus
To the Editor:
Because Thomas J. Talleur is an "expert," his opinions take on an appearance of fact ("Logging in With ...," July 14). I and others feel that many of his views are outdated.
In the past, network security has often taken a back seat to academic freedom, but institutions are now learning that it is possible to balance the two. In fact, the openness that we allow ourselves permits us to collaborate efficiently on security issues.
