Network Break-In at Ohio U. Exposes Data on 300,000 Alumni and Employees
Ohio University officials announced last week that personal information on about 300,000 alumni and faculty and staff members was exposed for more than a year in a computer-security breach.
Among the data left unsecured on a server were the names and addresses of donors to the university and their donation amounts, said William F. Sams, the university's chief information officer and associate provost for information technology. More than 137,000 Social Security numbers were exposed
