Negotiations Over Rules for Higher Education Act Enter Final Stage

Congress may have moved on to other matters, but work on the latest version of the Higher Education Act is far from complete. Behind the scenes, Education Department staff members and five teams of stakeholders have been meeting monthly to craft the rules that will determine how the reauthorized law—enacted last year—is carried out on college campuses and at student-loan companies nationwide.
