The chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville literally got down on his knees on Wednesday to plead with state legislators to fulfill his budget request, the Arkansas News Bureau reported.
The chancellor, John A. White, said he would kneel again, at any time, to beg for more money for his campus and for colleges across the state.
For Fayetteville, he is seeking $331.8-million for the 2007 fiscal year, including money to add 40 faculty members and to increase faculty members’ pay by 3 percent.
