'Nature' Will Ask Authors to Disclose Financial Ties
SHOW US THE MONEY: A leading scientific journal has reversed its position on whether researchers should reveal who's backing their work, but the editors won't insist on it.
Beginning October 1, all scientists who submit research papers to the journal Nature will be asked -- but not required -- to reveal financial ties that could lead to bias.
