Natural Responses to Risky Food
To the Editor:
The article by Andrew Szasz ("The Dangerous Delusions of 'Inverted Quarantine,'" The Chronicle Review, January 25) asks whether the emerging phenomenon of "inverted quarantine," which arises out of individuals' concern for the environment, produces some environmentally harmful side effects while at the same time leading to "political anesthesia," thereby undermining the environmental interests of society.
