Nationalist Politics Block Reforms at Bosnia's Universities
Infighting has cost higher education substantial aid and shut out graduates of foreign institutions
The former Marshal Tito Barracks, in a walled 19th-century compound on the edge of Sarajevo's old town, were supposed to become the new campus of the University of Sarajevo once NATO peacekeepers vacated the buildings.
Now part of the compound is indeed a construction site, but what's being built is not a university center. It is a new, fortified U.S. Embassy complex.
