National Science Foundation Tallies Colleges' Net Connections
Colleges that granted doctoral degrees had speedier Internet connections in 2003 than those that did not, the National Science Foundation has found in its first-ever analysis of academe's information-technology infrastructure.
The analysis also found that colleges were planning to reduce the number of connections between their campuses and the Internet, while moving to stronger connections.
