National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Names Interim President

The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators’ Board of Directors has appointed Joan Crissman, its executive vice president, to serve as interim president, effective immediately, the organization announced today.

The announcement came two days after the group’s president was criminally charged, creating a leadership vacuum, and two days before the group’s annual meeting opens.

Ms. Crissman has worked for the group since 1977 and also served as interim president after the retirement of its longtime president, Dallas Martin, in 2007.

She will now serve as interim president during the absence of Philip R. Day, who is on voluntary unpaid leave after being charged with misusing public funds while chancellor of the City College of San Francisco. —Beckie Supiano
