Nasty or Nice, Reviews of Journal Articles Remain Crucial to Scholarship

I must object to Amy Hackney Blackwell's observations ("Reviews of Journal Manuscripts: Nasty, Petty, Arrogant," Opinion, June 2). Ms. Blackwell implies that a large proportion of reviews are "nasty, petty, arrogant," and compares reviewers to ill-mannered drivers.
