Narrative Evaluations or Letter Grades?

It's unfortunate that the University of California at Santa Cruz is moving toward the elimination of narrative evaluations, but I take issue with the idea that other unorthodox institutions will now feel pressure to do the same ("Santa Cruz Moves to Require Letter Grades and Debates What It Will Lose as a Result," March 10).
