NYU Says It Won't Pay Striking TA's
Two and a half weeks into a strike by unionized teaching assistants at New York University, the institution's president, John E. Sexton, issued an ultimatum last week to all graduate students: Return to the classroom by December 5, or else lose your teaching assignments — and stipends — for the spring semester.
"The time has come for the university to insist that the academic needs of its undergraduates be met," Mr. Sexton wrote.
