NYU Press to Raise Funds for Project on Jewish Life; Yale to Use Royalties for Holocaust Effort; Editor in Chief of 'Science' to Leave Post
Universities nowadays expect their presses to break even, or even to turn a profit. But New York University Press has just signed a project so expensive that the university is undertaking a fund-raising campaign just to support it.
The epic Encyclopedia of Jewish Life Before the Holocaust, an illustrated, three-volume set, will attempt to recover the history of every Jewish community destroyed by the Nazis.
