N.Y. State Assails For-Profit College
The Education Department of the State of New York is clamping down on a fast-growing for-profit college that specializes in recruiting financially needy students who haven't graduated from high school.
The state says the college, Interboro Institute, is overly aggressive in recruiting students eligible for financial aid and too lax in providing counseling and academic supervision that might help more of the poorly prepared students earn their associate degrees.
